Once Colossus does get onto your side of the field, then it is all about positioning. Make the enemy react to you, not the other way around. Start your own push since they just invested 9 mana on a slow unit. Instead, if you need to play something send it to the other side of the field. So what could we do better? Do not send ground minions at colossus when it is not on your side of the field. Always assume if the enemy played Colossus they have a way to support it through healing, nether step, stun or other means. Not only that, they are building a push towards your base. Now your fireball (or other spell) is totally nullified and the 4 mana wasted.
What happens next? Well just before it gets to the bridge, or as it is crossing the bridge, a priestess is played behind it.
Colossus has 1200 health, so congrats on taking out approximately 15% of it’s health and the enemy tower. There aren’t any other units near colossus and so best case scenario they hit their tower and the colossus for maybe 170 damage from a fireball. I’ve seen it time and time again, the enemy plays a colossus near the back end of their field, and my teammate throws a fireball, chain lightning, daggerfall, or whatever spell at it.
